Safaris are conducted in two types of vehicles: Gypsys, which seat up to 6 passengers, and Canters, which can accommodate up to 20 passengers.
There are two type of safari vehicle allowed in ranthambore. 1. Gypsy Safari : The Gypsy is an open jeep-type vehicle, available for safari bookings for up to 6 people per vehicle. It is allowed to visit all safari zones, from 1 to 10, providing an excellent opportunity to explore the entire range of Ranthambore National Park's wildlife. 2. Canter Safari : The Canter is an open bus-type vehicle that can be booked for a maximum of 20 people. It is available for safaris in all zones of Ranthambore National Park, except for Zones 7 and 8, allowing groups to enjoy the diverse wildlife in the park comfortably.
By Air: The nearest airport to Ranthambore is Sanganer Airport in Jaipur, located approximately 180 kilometers away, about a 3.5-hour drive. Jaipur is well-connected to both New Delhi and Mumbai through daily flights operated by domestic airlines. The flight duration from Jaipur to Delhi is about 30 minutes, while the flight from Mumbai to Jaipur takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
By Rail: Sawai Madhopur is located on the main railway line connecting Delhi and Mumbai, with convenient connections to Jaipur as well. Regular superfast trains like the Jan Shatabdi and Rajdhani run between these destinations. The travel time from Sawai Madhopur to Jaipur is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, to Delhi around 5 hours, and to Mumbai about 15 hours.
By Road: Sawai Madhopur is about 3.5 hours away from Jaipur, 6 hours from Agra, and 8 hours from Delhi, all connected via national highways, making it easily accessible by road. The well-maintained highways offer a comfortable journey to Ranthambore for visitors traveling from these major cities.
